Which iComfort model do you have?

The S30 and E30 aren’t single-piece thermostats: each ships as a Smart Hub that wires directly to your furnace or air handler’s low-voltage terminals, plus an HD Display, the touchscreen you actually see on the wall, that clips onto a separate subbase. The M30 is simpler: a single wall-mounted unit with no separate hub or subbase. All three need continuous 24VAC power, which is why none of them takes a user-replaceable battery, despite what the name might suggest.

The 24VAC control circuit every iComfort model runs on is a NEC Article 725 Class 2 power-limited circuit, the same classification as any other residential thermostat wiring, which is why it doesn’t require conduit even though the Smart Hub draws more continuous current than a simple battery-powered thermostat could sustain.

Lennox retired the original “iComfort T-Stat” app and the lennoxicomfort.com web portal for the S30/E30/M30 generation in favor of a single current app, Lennox Home, that now covers every app-connected model from the S30 up through the current S40/E40/M40/L40 line. If you’re on the older app and it stopped working or stopped updating, that’s the planned sunset, not a bug: existing account credentials carry over directly into Lennox Home with no new signup required.
