Lennox splits “iComfort manual” two ways: by model (S30, S40, E30, M30, and the discontinued 10F81 each have their own documentation), and for most models, again by audience: a technical installer guide covering wiring and setup, and a separate homeowner guide covering day-to-day use. S30 and E30 share one homeowner guide, but not one installer guide
Lennox publishes a single “iComfort E30/S30 Homeowners Manual” (doc 507920-02) covering both models’ screens, menus, and schedules, even though each model has its own installer guide with model-specific wiring. If you just need to program a schedule or clear a filter reminder, the homeowner guide is the one you want, not the Installation and Setup Guide, which is written for a technician.
M30’s homeowner guide isn’t shared with anything
Unlike the S30/E30 pairing, the M30’s homeowner guide (doc 507740-02) is model-specific. It isn’t merged into another thermostat’s manual.
10F81 (iComfort Wi-Fi): one document, install and use combined
The original iComfort Wi-Fi, sold under catalog number 10F81, was discontinued November 4, 2019. Its manual (doc 507341, first issued 8/2015) covers both installation and homeowner operation in a single document. S40: current model, so the link isn’t fixed
The S40 is Lennox’s current cataloged replacement for the 10F81, and because it’s an active product, its manuals get revised more often than the S30/E30/M30’s; Lennox pushed an update as recently as July 2026. Rather than link a specific PDF that may 404 after the next revision, go through Lennox’s own S40 support page, which always serves the current installer and user guides.

Where do I find the model number on my Lennox iComfort thermostat? Check the thermostat face, or on touchscreen models, Settings > About. If you only have a part or catalog number stamped on the back, the identification table in our wiring guide maps catalog numbers to model names.
What’s the difference between the installer guide and the homeowner/user guide? The installer guide covers wiring terminals, jumper settings, and system configuration — what a technician needs during install. The homeowner guide covers programming, screen navigation, and routine maintenance. Most homeowners only need the homeowner guide unless they’re troubleshooting wiring themselves.
My thermostat is a 10F81 but the current documentation points to the S40. Is that a mistake? No. The 10F81 was discontinued in 2019, so Lennox doesn’t index its manual as prominently as current models’, but it’s still hosted at the link above. If you’re replacing rather than repairing, the S40 is the current cataloged successor using the same wiring architecture, so its manual is also relevant.
A manual link on this page is broken. Now what? Lennox reorganizes its literature folder periodically. Search the exact document number (for example, “507536-08”) plus “lennox” to find its current location, or go through Lennox’s support portal directly rather than guessing at a URL.
