Installation basics
This is a standard low-voltage thermostat install: shut off power to your HVAC system at the breaker, remove the old thermostat, and match wire-to-terminal (not wire-color-to-terminal) on the new base plate. Since this model is heat-pump-specific, expect to see the O/B reversing valve terminal in your wiring, which a straight gas-furnace thermostat wouldn’t have.
