ecobee says “no equipment running” but heat/cool is clearly running. What’s going on? The ecobee reports equipment status based on what it’s calling for, not what it sees. If the fan is running without an active call, the fan mode is set to “On” rather than “Auto,” or a relay is stuck. See ecobee Says “No Equipment Running” But Fan Is On.
Why is my ecobee blowing cold air in heat mode? Usually an incorrect O/B reversing valve setting. On most systems, set to “O” (energize in cooling). If you have a Trane or American Standard heat pump, set it to “B.” Full diagnosis: ecobee Blowing Cold Air Instead of Hot.
